PENN STATE UNIVERSITY – DONALD P. BELLISARIO MEDIA CENTER

Pennsylvania State University – State College, PA

Built in 1949 as a classroom building, the four-story Willard Hall is undergoing a full renovation combined with the construction of new space to create the Donald P. Bellisario Media Center. The new facility will house spaces and equipment to support degree programs in advertising/public relations; film-video; journalism; media studies; and telecommunications.

BPA is the building envelope commissioning agent for the project. Services during the design phase have included technical review of proposed alternatives to enhance the performance of the existing building enclosure and reviews of the construction documents with a focus on air barrier continuity, thermal performance, and protection against water intrusion. BPA will provide commissioning services during the construction phase to include reviewing submittals, monitoring the progress of construction of the exterior enclosure, and overseeing performance testing of critical envelope systems.
